Just Say Thank You

How many times have we heard someone being asked to pray respond by saying they do not know how to pray or what to say? It can be nerve-racking to pray in public as oftentimes we simple don't know what to say in prayer when we are overwhelmed, anxious or feel like all hope is gone. However, all that is required of us is for us to say thank you. We don't know what God has in store for us and we definitely don't know the lengths He goes to ensure we are kept each day. We may not have it all or have it at all as we often feel but we sure have life and that is reason enough to say thank you.

This morning as I travelled the streets in the wee hours of the morning to respond to an emergency call out, we had to deviate from the usual route on the highway as there had been an accident. This was separate and apart from the emergency I was responding to which in fact was another motor vehicle accident. While coming back, I was chatting with my husband telling him how blessed we are each day. We don't always think about it but the same road we travel each day safely is the same road that someone lost their life along. The very jobs we were offered are the same ones someone interviewed for and was turn down. The foods we refuse to eat, someone would gladly appreciate at this moment. The sickness that claimed someone life, you have been fortunate to be living with it for several years. Life is very fragile and it is high time we realize that we are nothing without Christ. Therefore when you don't know what to say just reflect on the oxygen that you are able to pull through your nostrils and say thank you Lord.

Let us pray...

Almighty God, creator of heaven and earth. Father we come to you today humble in prayer thanking you for your love, grace and mercy that continues to sustain us. Lord today we ask nothing of you but just want to let you know we are grateful for small blessings. Abba we bless your holy name and acknowledge that without you we are indeed nothing. We thank you for your promise of never leaving nor forsaking us and we celebrate your power today. Lord Jesus whatever we have been ungrateful about we ask that you forgive us and bless us with a heart of thanksgiving. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
